UnityMK is a charity helping many different people at their point of crisis.
Previously known as Winter Night Shelter Milton Keynes, we support individuals and families who are at risk of homelessness - whatever your background or circumstances we are here to help. Mental health needs, the breakdown of a relationship, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol addiction, bereavement, losing your job, and financial problems can all contribute to making households at risk of homelessness. We support:
- Rough sleepers
- Sofa surfers
- People in emergency accommodation or temporary housing
- Those who need support with their tenancies
- Others who are vulnerable
We offer a range of services that include:
- Winter Night Shelters – emergency beds for those experiencing homelessness during the coldest months
- Unity Park Station welfare centre – which houses our dedicated welfare service offering advice and practical support for those that need help, in collaboration with external partner agencies; alongside a range of primary services (meals, clothing, laundry and washing facilities).
- Wolverton – this future project will be a 13,000 square foot hub and will help those that are experiencing homelessness, as well as being a safe space for vulnerable families, couples and individuals that are danger of losing their home.
How we are helping
Our Winter Night Shelters run from December to March and help those who are experiencing homelessness. During the 2023 – 24 night shelter season we were able to support some of the most vulnerable people thanks to an amazing team of 420 local volunteers who dedicated their time to work with us.
