Welfare Support

If you need help our welfare team will meet with you to assess your situation and create a personal support plan for you. In-person appointments can be made by contacting the welfare team via email: welfare@unitymk.org or drop in Monday to Thursday 10-12.30pm.

We are based at Unity Park Station (ground floor of the Old Bus Station), 401 Elder Gate, Milton Keynes, MK9 1LR.

We can provide:

  • practical help including food and drink, clothing, sleeping bags, access to showers, laundry facilities, and laptops
  • administrative help to access ID, along with benefits advice
  • support to find accommodation, housing referrals and employment opportunities
  • well-being and mental health support including referrals to medical and dental care, GP’s, addiction counsellors and support groups
  • debt advice and referrals to debt services
  • access to the twice weekly Community Club and other groups providing connection and support

Partner agencies and other support

We make Unity Park Station available at different times of the week for partner organisations to use our facilities so that together we can provide a hub of support for people in need in Milton Keynes. And thanks to our close partnerships, we are able to help guests accessing our services with referrals to relevant agencies too. Some of the charities and agencies we work with include:

Community club

On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings we host a Community Club which is open to anyone as a supportive space to find connection. Friendly volunteers run a free cafe and provide a listening ear. Offering a range of social activities and free services such as hairdressing/barbers and access to UnityMK's welfare team and well-being therapist. People pop in for a cup of tea and stay for so much more.
