Corporate Partnership

Partnering with UnityMK means more than just cake sales and running marathons it means bringing the topic of homelessness out of the shadows and into the light without shame or embarrassment. It also means you are helping to fund our vital services, which give people across Milton Keynes the guidance and advice they need to come back from crisis.

We found that thinking of new ways to raise money had a great team building impact and we built a big team of supporters” – Cranswick charity lead

Anyone can face homelessness

Anyone can face homelessness, and as a benefit of your support our Fundraising Team can provide information and a variety of materials to share with your employees, highlighting some signs that may indicate a colleague is struggling – which in turn means you are able to support them and ensure they can access the help they may need.

How you can help

We welcome support from companies large and small, and there are several ways to help.

  • Could you nominate us as your chosen charity/charity of the year?
  • Might your company be willing to match donations £:£ raised by employees’ efforts?
  • Has your company signed up for Payroll Giving?
  • Will your company be supportive of employee fundraising? For example, dress down days, bake sales, and other events?

By making us your charity of the year we can offer:

  • Fundraising support tailored to your teams’ fantastic ideas.
  • Volunteering opportunities so your team can see exactly what kind of difference they make to our guests firsthand as well as great team building exercises.
  • Organised events and challenges to take part in.
  • Expert support and advice to pass on to your teams about dealing with homelessness in the workplace.
  • Publicity and local media opportunities with PR support from our in-house communications team.

We extend a huge thank you to all those who have supported us in the past and those who will support us in the future – we can’t do what we do without you.

FAQs

Will our people be able to fundraise for you?

Yes please!

What fundraising support would you be able to provide for our people, including any events or challenges?

As we are a small local charity, we have the flexibility to work with your team on any fundraising ideas they might have. We have had great success with corporate teams taking part in local events like the MK Marathon and Dragon Boat Festival. We run our annual sleepout event which we invite our corporate partners to join in with, usually in May.

We can also assist with in-office fundraising events, for example running your own sponsored sleep out or a donation drive. We can provide any promotional materials you may need, publicise your event through our social media and supporters database, and in some cases provide our volunteers to assist.

Do you have a day of celebration or action in the calendar year that we could help support?

We do not have a specific celebration day but our winter night shelter season runs from end of November to beginning of April and we will always need extra fundraising and volunteering support during this time.

  • World homeless day is 10th October, and some supporters choose this day to focus their actions on.

  • The sponsored sleep out in May is also a big date in our calendar.

Would you be able to present to employees about the difference our partnership makes?

Yes of course, we’re always happy to do this!

Do you have any materials, that would help engage our people, from content, case studies to merchandise?

We have leaflets, case study posters, videos and can provide merchandise and branded clothing.

Do you offer open days, where our employees can find out more about what your charity does?

Yes, we usually arrange visits in small groups to our Unity Park Station welfare centre so that people can see the work that we do and speak to our team about volunteering and fundraising opportunities. Many of our volunteers have been guests previously who have used our services and are happy to speak to supporters about their journeys.

Would you be happy to work with us on creating social media content to promote our partnership?

Yes, we have a communications team who can help with any content you need.

Are there opportunities for our employees to volunteer with you?

  • Again, yes please! We always need volunteers and have lots of options depending on what would suit. We can send you ideas and opportunities to see what would work best for your teams.
